We can finally breathe. This summer market has recently been one of the most loaded stores with countless big penny signings for Premier League teams. On the one hand, we Nottingham Forest “das” broke the British record for the largest number of signings in a single market after a summer of unprecedented transactions.”On the other hand, we have Chelsea,” who “paves the way for a total of million to be spent on new signings this summer.”
With so many star signings, it’s hard to choose the best of the bunch, but this is where I come in. I’ll try to narrow it down to ten players in no particular order. Several factors influence my decisions, including transfer fees, the skills of the players, the potential of the players and their importance to their new team. Also, I only count permanent transfers, otherwise Dean Henderson would be there.
Erling Haaland (FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund)
This was the obvious starting point. Erling Haaland is perhaps the most talked about signing this summer, due to his immense goalscoring ability. When it became known that Haaland had signed for the Manchester Blue Team, the Internet exploded, as Haaland is a future Ballon d’Or, and this acquisition confirms that Man City has the best starting lineup in the Premier League.
According to the transfer market, Haaland is the second highest footballer in the world with 135 million pounds, behind Kylian Mbappé, who is estimated at 144 million pounds. However, Man City were able to activate his exit clause, which would range between 55 and 65 million pounds. Although there are many add-ons, it is an incredible blessing when it reaches its potential. Also at this level, Haaland is one of the best players in world football. Surprisingly, the Norwegian scored 86 goals and 23 assists in just 89 games at Dortmund; You’d be lying if you thought Haaland wasn’t world class.
“He has already scored nine goals in the Premier League after just five games.”If there is a player who breaks Mohammed Salah’s record of 32 goals in a Premier League season, it is Haaland. His arrival makes Champions League triumph very possible in the next two seasons and who knows, Man City could be in for a treble! So, if Real Madrid renew their interest in Haaland, the citizens could earn even higher fees.
Nick Pope (Newcastle United, from Burnley)
Since 2017, Premier League fans have attached great importance to Nick Pope! At the time of writing, Pope has a staggering 73.6% failure rate in his 146 Premier League appearances. In addition to being a standard fire stopper of any assortment, Pope is a great dispenser. This goes unnoticed, especially when part of the reason Jordan Pickford was picked for England is because of his distribution. However, he is a confident and consistent goalkeeper, who finally gets his chance to shine in a team with a promising long-term plan.
Newcastle lacked an increasingly reliable goalkeeper for a long time. While Martin Dúbravka was tuning between the sticks, he was prone to making a costly mistake. Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman, unfortunately, were not at the level Newcastle needed. So it’s a big step forward for the club and, although Pope is 30 years old, he still has some good years ahead of him!
his transfer is another example of smart spending by Newcastle. The Magpies spent cautiously, rather than spending money for fun, as is the matter with the expenditure of just million for Pope. Instead of just giving the name, Newcastle are buying players who fit the system and are wanted by Eddie Howe.
Fabio Carvalho (Liverpool FC, from Fulham)
Fabio Carvalho has just turned 20 years old. Such a young player, but already a great footballer! Carvalho joined Fulham’s Academy in 2015 and rose through the ranks before being promoted to the first team for the 2021/22 season. Carvalho then scored 10 goals and eight assists in the championship and turned out to be one of Fulham’s best players.
Raheem Sterling (Chelsea FC, from Manchester City)
Unlike Newcastle (except, of course, Alexander Isak), Chelsea injected money this summer. The departures of Antonio Rüdiger and Romelu Lukaku, among others, forced the Blues and signed new strong signings: the first of them is Raheem Sterling. Unlike many Chelsea strikers, Sterling is guaranteed to score goals, as evidenced by his “100 club” status, so I expect him to be Chelsea’s top scorer this season. In fact, he has already scored three goals in his first five games at Chelsea.
Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea FC, SSC Napoli)
The second Chelsea player worth mentioning! For the last five or six years, Kalidou Koulibaly has been one of the strongest central defenders in all of Europe, and for many it was a surprise that he stayed so long in Naples. Whether it was Gennaro Gattuso, Maurizio Sarri or the fantastic Carlo Ancelotti, Koulibaly remained a full-fledged player and a permanent holder of the title.
mattermiro (Manchester United, Real Madrid)
In recent years, Manchester United have become accustomed to making players who were previously world-class or, on average, promising look. From Alexis Sanchez to Juan Mata, from Donny Van de Beek to Henrikh Mkhitaryan. I have high hopes for mattermiro. The Brazilian defensive midfielder is exactly the type of player Man Utd have needed for several years.
Boubacar Kamara (Aston Villa, free transfer – previously at Marseille)
Aston Villa didn’t have the best start to the season today. Steven Gerrard is under pressure, if his team doesn’t improve in the next five games he is likely to leave. It’s a shame, because the team at his disposal should finish in the first half of the Premier League standings: instead, he is currently operating in the relegation zone.
